Paisley Gold & Silver Pendant Necklace

This gold and silver paisley necklace was originally handmade by Simone around 12 years ago. The same design was sold for a period through Simone's online store before this particular pendant quietly disappeared into her workshop stash. Rediscovered years later, it now reappears as part of the From The Archives range.

The pendant combines two versions of the same decorative motif: a paisley shape cut by hand from sterling silver, layered with an intricate embossed paisley pattern across its surface. The result feels richly detailed without becoming overly formal.

The patterned silver was created using a rolling mill, producing a softly integrated texture within the metal rather than a deeply etched surface. The pendant was then gently domed to give it more dimension and allow the light to move across the curved form.

The front of the pendant has been hand gilded with fine 24ct gold foil using keum-boo, a traditional Korean gilding technique where pure gold is fused directly onto silver. Simone originally learned this process while studying with a Korean jeweller, and the handmade nature of the technique remains visible in the softly uneven finish.

Rather than a flat, uniform gold surface, the gilding has a slightly patchy and timeworn appearance which gives the pendant warmth and an antique-like character. Combined with the detailed paisley patterning, it creates a piece that feels richly textured and quietly luminous.

This mixed metal pendant necklace works beautifully with warm neutrals, black, denim and natural fabrics, adding a subtle focal point without overpowering an outfit. The sterling silver chain is adjustable from 45cm to 55cm for flexible everyday styling.

Most of our necklaces are adjustable. We typically use a standard (princess) length of 45cm (18"), with an additional 10cm extender chain, which allows adjustment up to matinee length (55cm / 22"). These are the most popular and versatile necklace lengths.
