Damask Etched Silver Pendant Necklace with Ruby

This damask etched silver pendant necklace comes from a period of creative experimentation in Simone's jewellery practice. Made around 2009, it was never put into production, making it a genuine one-of-a-kind design from the From The Archives range.

The detailed damask pattern was one of Simone's favourite designs to etch into silver. It has the feel of vintage wallpaper: decorative, richly patterned and slightly nostalgic, while still feeling organic and hand-drawn.

The pendant has been cut out by hand into an ornate shape, giving it a slightly irregular handmade character rather than a manufactured finish. A deep pink lab grown ruby sits at the centre in a sterling silver serrated bezel, adding vivid colour and a subtle antique-inspired detail.

This silver and ruby pendant is small enough to wear comfortably, but detailed enough to feel special. It will bring colour and pattern to simple outfits, especially against black, white, denim, linen or soft neutrals.

The pendant is suspended from a delicate and sparkly sterling silver chain, adjustable from 45cm to 55cm for flexible styling. Wear it alone as a small focal piece or layer it with other sterling silver necklaces.

Ruby is the July birthstone, traditionally associated with love, courage and vitality. The ruby in this pendant is lab grown, offering the same composition and colour appeal as mined ruby, without the mining origin.

Most of our necklaces are adjustable. We typically use a standard (princess) length of 45cm (18"), with an additional 10cm extender chain, which allows adjustment up to matinee length (55cm / 22"). These are the most popular and versatile necklace lengths.
