Spring Jewellery Style Guide: Fresh Looks for the Season Ahead

By Simone Walsh

Spring Jewellery, Fahsion and Outfit Ideas in AustraliaSpring is a time of renewal - and not just for nature. As the days get longer and warmer, it's natural to feel like switching things up: swapping heavy knits for lighter layers, trading boots for sandals, and maybe even giving your jewellery collection a bit of a refresh too.

After months of winter hibernation (both literally and sartorially), spring is the perfect season to revisit your style. It doesn't have to mean buying a whole new wardrobe: simply adding a few fresh pieces or trying new outfit and jewellery combos can make everything feel lighter, brighter, and more 'you' again.

I'm an Australian jewellery designer and maker, and I've been creating jewellery for over 25 years. One thing I know for sure? Jewellery is one of the easiest and most joyful ways to express your style - especially at this time of year.

Whether you're looking to fall back in love with pieces you already own or you're ready to treat yourself to something new, this guide is here to help you embrace the season in style.

We'll explore how to style your jewellery for spring, what's trending this season, and how to make conscious, beautiful choices that reflect who you are. We'll also share some of our favourite spring-inspired pieces and gift ideas.

Ready to feel inspired? Let's dive in.

Why Spring Is the Perfect Time to Rethink & Refresh Your Jewellery

Spring is the time of year that most clearly invites change. The sun comes out, the layers come off, and suddenly you're ready to breathe new life into your wardrobe. Here are some tips to help you freshen up your wardrobe - and especially your jewellery - ready for the warmer months:

Give Your Jewellery a Spring Clean

Spring is a great time to declutter, reorganise, and freshen things up - and your jewellery collection is no exception. That doesn't mean getting rid of everything and starting over (unless you want to, of course).

It might be as simple as reorganising your pieces and giving them a clean. Not only will you be taking good care of your precious pieces, but you can to remind yourself of what you already have, what's missing that you'd like to add - and you can spot any lurking problems that might need special care.

I recommend you take time out to reorganise and clean your jewellery at least once or twice a year - and spring is perfect timing, especially after a long winter of wearing scarves, coats, and gloves during which your collection may have been a bit neglected.

Cleaning your jewellery is especially important but easily overlooked: a gentle clean and polish can bring dull pieces back to sparkling life.

Freshen Up Your Spring Outfits

During the transition seasons of autumn and spring, I recommend spending a bit of time with a mirror to try out new combinations of clothing, jewellery and other accessories.

Doing this is an easy - and free - way to get creative and be inspired by what you already have. It will also help you to spot any gaps in your collection that you might want to fill, so you can do this with purpose rather than making impulse purchases.

Spring is also often a season of celebration: weddings, garden parties, birthdays, and long-awaited get-togethers. Having a few special pieces on hand that feel fresh, joyful and 'you' can make those moments even more meaningful and fun. So keep this in mind as you refresh your wardrobe and figure out what to wear during the warmer months.

Spring Jewellery Trends & Ideas

Spring fashion in Australia often means lighter layers, flowing fabrics, and a fresh colour palette. It's the season for playful details and expressive styling - and your jewellery should be part of that picture. Here are some ideas to inspire your spring jewellery look:

Nature-Inspired Designs

As gardens bloom and the bushland comes to life, it's the perfect time to wear jewellery that echoes the season. Think floral motifs, organic textures, and leafy shapes. Our wattle jewellery (part of our Australian Flora Jewellery range) is a favourite in spring: wattle is Australia's national floral emblem and one of the first signs that warmer weather is on the way. Why not dress up for Wattle Day on 1 September by wearing your favourite wattle-inspired jewellery and other pieces?

Also take a peek at our Bouquet: Flower Jewellery range, which is full of meaningful flower and leaf designs which are perfect to be mixed and matched - and gifted!

Brighter Metals & Gemstones

Spring is a great time to bring out jewellery that catches the light. Yellow gold jewellery in particular adds a sunny glow to spring outfits, while gemstone jewellery with bright colours offer a splash of joyful colour.

If you're into birthstones and have a spring birthday, August, September and October offer gorgeous options for the season.

Lightweight, Layerable Spring Jewellery Pieces

As the weather warms up and the layers start to come off, spring fashion in Australia becomes all about lightness, colour, and expression. Your jewellery should complement that shift—adding a sense of fun, elegance or individuality to your outfits.

Spring outfits often have lower necklines or shorter sleeves, which is a great excuse to play with layering. Delicate necklaces, stacking rings, and eye-catching bracelets work beautifully — and they're comfortable to wear even as the weather warms up.

Our Necklace & Pendants collection has lots of versatile pieces to get you started with necklace layering, including our dedicated collection of Layering Necklaces.

Rings are also a great way to add variation to what you're wearing. Stacking rings are ideal for creating a layered, textured look, especially if you vary metal colours, textured finishes and gemstones.

Statement Jewellery with Personality

Spring fashion doesn't have to be all soft pastels and frills. A bold, creative jewellery piece can completely elevate a simple outfit—especially when you want to add your own flair. Browse our guide to How to Wear Statement Jewellery for tips on making it work with your spring wardrobe.
