A visit to the Mt Pleasant Show

One of my favourite things to do in this part of the world is visit the annual Mt Pleasant Show, which is held in March each year not far from where we're based in the Adelaide hills.

It's a very old-fashioned country show with lots to see and do: sideshows, shopping and showbags, of course, but also judging of animals, produce, crafts and many quirky things.

Having visited the Show this past weekend, here are some the photos I took which I thought I'd share.

Laughing sideshow clowns.

Cyclone showride.

Guess the weight of the goat or pumpkin.

Close up of a prize winning dahlia flower.

A rose in the flower judging section.

Prize winning eggs. Prize winning animal made from vegetables.

Giant pumpkin. Prize winning cake with butter icing.
